March 11,2010 Mike Weaver
Mike Weaver will be speaking to the next meeting of the Inventor’s Network of the Carolinas on Thursday evening 11 March 2010 starting at 7:30pm. Mr. Weaver is the Managing Partner of Intrinsic Marks International (www.Intrinsic-Marks.com). His INofC presentation is titled “How to Find Good Ideas and Turn Them into Cash”. Mr. Weaver’s goal is to share some observations about the basics that play key roles in successfully finding and filtering good ideas, organizing the best and turning best into positive cash flow. Mr. Weaver is a serial inventor / entrepreneur with over 30 years experience. He holds nine United States patents (3 utility and 6 design) with two utility patents pending. Products and services based on Mr. Weaver’s technology and delivered under his leadership have grossed over $100 million in revenues serving a wide variety of customers around the world. Mr. Weaver holds a BA in Biology from Miami University and a MBA in R&D Management from Wright State University. He is very happily married to Karen, his bride of 43 years, and they have two children and two grandchildren. Mr. Weaver was a co-founder of Hand Held Products (HHP) serving as its Chairman, CEO and COO from 1980-1994. HHP originated in Mike and Karen’s 4th bedroom with a single product idea that uniquely served customer needs. Growing rapidly into 1,200 sq. ft., HHP eventually required over 40,000 sq. ft. to support over 100 Charlotte based employees. International HHP companies, based in Eindhoven (Holland), Swindon (England), Hong Kong and St. Maarten (N.A.), supported customers around the world. HHP’s rapid growth was sustained through internally generated cash flow thus eliminating the need for outside capital investment. Mr. Weaver has shared his thoughts and experiences with both Duke University and University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill) Graduate Business School entrepreneurial classes and has served as advisor to Ben Craig Center sta
